Well, you need to look at the chemicals used in diet sodas, versus regular. But neither are good for you.
Diet sodas have artificial sweetners that have been known to cause cancer, major headache problems, as well as other things.
Soda in general is bad for your teeth, bad for your joints. It eats away at cartilage and causes bone deterioration. Not to mention the caffeine withdrawals and the headaches that come with that!
Try water, fruit flavored water, juices. They're much better for you!

Whether diet soda is "worse" than regular soda is something up for debate. The main concern with diet soda is that it's typically sweetened with aspartame, which is a controversial in that there are those who claim that it can lead to brain damage. Aspartame has been around for a long time, and whether or not it's truly unsafe for everyone is not conclusively known. Personally, I'm fine with diet coke every once in a while, as I'm no fan of the high fructose corn syrup found in most regular sodas. At the end of the day, moderation is probably key.

I have no problem with diet soda, but one problem is the aspartame (commonly used as the artificial sweetener in diet soda) has had some health criticisms in the past, but as far as I know they have not been proven. Also some people don't do/get along well with that sweetener.

I've read that aspartame in diet coke makes you crave carbs, so that drinking diet coke actually makes you gain more weight in the long run than drinking coke. But really who knows with scientific studies these days, they're always conflicting.

For me, it's not. I'm diabetic and cannot drink regular soda. But, there are those who will say that Nutrasweet is bad for you, especially in great quantities. Depends on how much you drink.

There;s not much difference, one uses sugar and the diet is usually aspertame (Coke) or Nutrasweet (Pepsi)
