Has anyone had a NDE (Near Death Experience) and if so, what was it like?

I have read several accounts. Some claim to have seen heaven and some say they went to Hell.

14 years ago I 'died." I was in ICU on a ventilator for a serious case of pneumonia. I was 40 years old. Prior to this episode while I was in the hospital, I could not tell you anything about the hospital stay. I had even worked in this hospital in this unit with all these people but until I had the NDE I had no idea where I really was or what was wrong. Basically I was in a coma. Suddenly one day I was floating in a warm, dark environment, as calm and peaceful as anything you could imagine. I was like I might have been in the womb. floating, warm, peaceful.I don't know how long this lasted but suddenly I felt a sharp pain. The Dr. was inserting a pacemaker to keep my heart going.I knew who the Dr. was, I knew who the RN doing CPR on me was, I knew what hospital I was in, everything became clear as can be. I sat up in the corner of the room at the ceiling and watched what they were doing to me. I don't know how long I watched. But now I knew all these people. I could hear some crying, some saying "Were not going to let you go this easy" Come on, stay with us. My senses became overloaded. I went back into the "womb" like environment for a while and had a short while to think. I don't remember making any earth shattering decisions but the darkness, peace and warmth began to disappear and it was time to go home. Home being my body.

I have met with many people withNDE since and it is different for everyoone. Some have the bright lights, the dead relatives, the tunnel. and other like me felt safe in the womb.

I went into consuling after this and my therapist had worked with other NDE patients. Depression following is quite normal as many people feel like being in such a perfect place they just don't want to stay here in this imperfect world. Apparently there are many people who suicide after this just to get to that place again.

Me, I felt like I was given a 2nd chance to live and that I had many things to do before I finally went back. God had something he wanted me to do, I still don't know what this is but I am still trying to find out.

Go to www.near-death.com. It is the perfect website with lots of accounts. I believe that the NDE is a fascinating experience with God. I have experienced an OBE not and NDE and it was sweet.

I'm near death allot, so much misery in my life, I've had a white light, but was pulled away quickly, when I went to go to it, my mind spasmed and my back twitched, and almost pied my self. one time when I was insane I thought someone was behind me with a knife, A weird religious thing, don't need details. I stood up to the imaginary killer, in the name of Christ, as I preached the Gospel to him. That was real to me, frightened the heck out of me. then I turned around I'M ALIVE. that was crazy. but got to love my devotion to God. I'm on death bed now... if God doesn't come to rescue me.
