Do they not see that leaving now will just cause more civil war which will be utter pandemonium. You can expect turkey to move in and annex kurdish territory, syria from the west and iran from the east to do likewise. Whatever happens, oil prices will reach record highs and while you may not want to fight a war over oil, this is over oil and if we lose, the high oil prices will have a toll. High gasoline prices (record highs maybe double), will cause poverty which will cause crime, homelessness, and terror. Leaving could be the catalyst to apocalypse.

Ed Borden, you are wise beyond your years on this earth. I commend you for your incite and wisdom on this situation. It is too bad the left cannot fully understand or research this war we must win to stop terrorism and keeping the terrorists from wrecking the worlds' economy, not just ours. Oil is what drives the machinery of the 20th and 21st century and if left to these terrorists without completing our mission abroad would be a travesty to those who were killed on 9/11. At least the Japs had the decency to attack military installations when they struck Pearl Harbor and wear a uniform for their cause as for terrorists, they hide like cowards behind the women and children and if they believe "Allah is so great for their Jihad they too would put on a uniform and fight like men instead of cowards. I believe the leftists are cowards too as they are willing to live under someone elses rule than to fight for freedom.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't there already crime, homelessness, and terror in the US? Most of which the right could care less about unless one of the homeless happens into their neighborhood and commits a crime which sparks a wave of terror amongst their way right community! Furthermore, maybe those on the left just don't believe blood for oil is a fair trade. I can't say i'm strictly left or right but I can say I don't want anybody to die so I can pay less at the pump--that way of thinking is the epitome of selfishness and shows a real lack of respect for life which I'd like to say suprises me considering righties are so pro-life, but I guess they only care about life in the womb

It is all about politics. The lefts seem to be very hypocrytical on all issues lately. Did they not vote for the war in the first place? If they were really so anti-war why did they do this?
I think the Democrats are really naive to actually believe that pulling out is the best idea. Who are they going to blame when the next terrorist attack happens because the east believe that America cannot hold its own.

I think your probably right, however the country is tired of this war already and the politicians on both sides sense this and are trying to do what they want and maybe get elected again. The election is not that far ahead. From my perspective I don't see the Politicians helping our soldiers cause,I for one am glad that our soldiers are brave and doing the right thing unlike our politicians who are just worried about the vote's.

Your premise is false. #1 it's panedmonium already and the things you say might happen still are very possible even if we stay there. Just in case you hadn't noticed, we're losing the war, that's why they're sending more troops. You don't do that when you're winning.

#2 Gas production in Iraq is nowhere near where it was under Saddam so that egg has already hatched as well.

Because they are convinced that the Lives of US Troops are worth more than the lives of Iraquis and that the Government of Iraq is a failure and does not have the will to establish the Rule of Law.

You seem to be promoting your view, instead of asking a real Question.

And I suppose you think the longer we stayed there, the better it will get, even if it's 3 or 4 years? Get real, we don't have the manpower or money to keep this up.

Because they have invested so much in our losing the war that they can not turn back now. It's all political. It the pres was a Dem, they would not be talking about pulling out. It's all political. They hate Bush more that losing a war.
