Let me clarify. How can one say having faith in cards is "phoney" when Christians have faith in a book.

Mike A didn't say that her belief was stupid, he said it was wrong. Which is precisely what you've said about Mike A's beliefs. Uh oh, somebody is a hypocrite.

Unfortunately, that has been my experience, yes. They believe in a ancient book, and one that's been translated, mistranslated, and altered numerous times throughout the ages. Yet they have no problem turning around and mocking other people for their beliefs. Personally, I'd go with the cards. Even if you don't believe the harbor or channel any metaphysical properties, I think reading tarot or psy cards can still be a great way to explore concepts and insights you might not have thought of. It might give you a glimpse into your subconscious too, and that can be very helpful. The bible, on the other hand, seems to be more about Dogma, and not thinking for yourself. So, which one is really more ridiculous?

What did he do wrong? I think what he wrote was fairly light, but it must have triggered something your way. Send him an email and ask if he will clarify - you may be able to tell whether he is a Christian or not. Too often today, just about anything goes for a heaven bound person, so I can't comment on the term "typical", but I can tell you what a true Christian looks like.

I don't know if he's typical but he sounded like a fairly moderate and tranquil Christian. One which you could count as a friend if you knew him, unlike those fire and brimstone types.

Should have said - I'm an atheist.

*Ah, yes. I see your point. Maybe a little inconsistent but he means well. That's not something you can say about all Christians - take a look at www.godhatesamerica.com - its actually by an American Christian, not as it sounds, a muslim in Iraq or Libya.*

Just a standard reply from someone who doesn't know what they are talking about.

Indeed what is the difference between a book & cards?

I have 6 decks of Tarot Cards ;-)

I agree with Spanky. You may have a point, but if you comb your hair right and wear a hat, maybe no one will notice.

I saw in your profile that you had a previous account deleted. Was it for being obnoxious?

Yaarr. I think he should walk the plank too. Is he typical? No, I wouldn't go that far.

There is no such thing as a "typical" Christian. God created us all differently.
