Your in a good mood, average stress just like anyone else, but the anxiety is always there. Not the panic attacks, but the physical feeling of anxiety when nothing is wrong. I have had that since I am 15yrs old, that is 31yrs. I recently was put into a Cardiac hospital, because the ER thought I may have had a heart attack. My blood pressure was 200/60, that is bad! I was just watching TV, 3 hrs later, I was in an ambulance on my way to the Cardiac hosp. They said it is my esophagus/possible ulcer/acid reflux disease. I was counseled on quitting smoking, but have been for at least 28yrs regularly. I quit for 2 1/2 days, sounds little, but to a smoker of that long that was damn good for me. I know I could have quit, had I had something to take that little anxiety edge off. Guess that is why some people drink. I don't, and don't do drugs. HOW when I go to the doctor this week , convince him to give me a low dose Valium or Xanax, which helped my dad quit after 50yrs? Don't need a shrink!

There is a new medication called Chantix. It is like a miracle for people trying to stop smoking. It's only available by prescription. It is much better than Zyprexa/Wellbutrin and is specific to smoking cessation.

A little bit of Xanax (maybe 0.25 mg twice or three times a day and then lessening over time) should help you too.

I agree. A general practioner can handle this!

I don't really have an answer to what may be causing your problem (I would hope you would see a doctor so you can rule out some sort of physical problem). However, when I saw the word "anxiety" in your question, I felt compelled to answer. I had a girlfriend years ago that started feeling anxious about everything. These little anxiety episodes soon turned into full blown panic attacks. She didn't seek help, even though I begged her to, and it eventually ended up ruining her life. My advice to you is, start seeing someone immediately about this problem with anxiety. If your parents can't afford it, most communities have free mental health clinics. Kids your age often think they are the only ones in the world with a particular problem and are embarrassed to talk about it with anyone. but believe me, there isn't any problem that mental health professionals haven't dealt with. Just don't delay too long, It's amazing how fast little "idiosyncrasies" can grow into huge problems.
