how can i send a voicemail message without thier phone ringing?

i have cingular but everytime i try 2 send it, it tells me 2 enter a voicemail box number but i dont know what that is.

its the same as their phone number,
although if you both have say the same cellphone *(say t-mobile) providers
you can call the number you get your messages from
and if you press 2 you can leave someone else a voice message
without their phone ringing (they would hear a beep)
this wouldnt work if you have different cellphone providers
