Ask them to please remove their gum because it is causing you to pay more attention to their chewing than to the content of what they are saying, and that you are VERY interested in what they are saying.

That should work!

I don't think chewing gum is a deal breaker. Yes it may be rude if they are chewing loudly but you never know they may be doing you a favor. 10 minutes before they got to you, they may have had a big giant fat hamburger with lots and lots of onions!! So you decide...onion breathe or gum chewer! I'll take gum chewer any day. Just as an FYI I never ever chew gum while on an interview. However if I did and the prospective employer mentioned it or complained about it...I'd run for the hills and be thankful I know up front that they are pity...Got forbid I use the bathroom too long or something!

Just come straight out and ask them to take the gum out of their mouth and hand them a tissue to put it in. Let them know that you prefer talking when you both are not chewing so that you both can understand each others more clearly.

I am with you. I hate that.

Gum chewing in public settings is disgusting. I don't know how to get people to stop maybe by offering a tissue for there gum similar to how you would offer a tissue to someone with a runny nose

People's ticks vary in size...the gum chewing, while unprofessional, wouldn't bother me that much...but that doesn't mean you're petty for being offended by it. If it is that incredibly bothersome to you, place a garbage can outside your office door along with a sign that tells them to discard all food, gum, and candy before entering.

actual i think of it relies upon on how and the place you're chewing it. case in point I hate it whilst people make noises or chew with their mouth open. while you're chewing it discreetly and with courtesy what's the vast deal? additionally that is not suited to chew it at specific cases or places. case in point, i wouldn't in any respect chew gum together as giving a lecture, nor could I settle for it from pupils the two.

Yes, I think you are the only one to take offense.

If it bothers you that much, offer them the garbage can to throw it out. Honestly, I wouldn't stress over it. Unless the gum ends up in your hair - then I would be offended.

Maybe they have bad breath and do not want to offend you. I wish this is all I have to worried about.
