If her call is say Jean perhaps calling her Momma Jean could be a compromise. while you're no longer tender with that then carry organization. yet another selection could be in case you do want to call the doorstep mom or MIL mom could be to settle the emotional turmoil inclusive of your start mom. of direction i be attentive to you won't be able to sit down down and function a communique along with her yet write her a letter expressing your perspectives on what a mom does, record the justifications you view those women as your mom and why you haven't any longer felt tender calling them by skill of that identify. I would ask her, it's her you're talking about. Even making fun of someones weight for a joke, even if they're your mother, can really hurt without you knowing it. Just say "Mom, do you mind if I call you Big Gal?" she can answer that herself. If she says she doesn't care, then it's probably okay. Just don't publicize it.

It really depends on how it makes your mother feel when you say it, and if you are calling her that to be mean. If your mom is okay with the pet name, then I say its okay. (Besides...big gal could also mean she's older, not literally big) Just make sure it doesn't hurt or offend your mother, or make her feel bad.

Well it depends.
Does your mother find it offending? If so, I suggest you stop right now. But I guess you can use it as a pet name kind of thing, but then again it's not very nice.

You shouldn't call your mother anything but a variation of mother..mom..mommy..mama, etc. It's a sign of respect. She could take your humor to heart and feel very disrespected and devalued. She's not your friend, don't treat her as such.

If she thinks it's rude, it's rude.

You'd be better off calling her something affectionate, like "Mamasita," "The Domestic Goddess," or "The Queen"!
