It depends on the situation! in some cases the victim does not want help and they say they do and they keep seeing the abuser and keep taking the beating. To me the victim would have to take the first step in order for me to help them. They would have to actually prove to me that they want to get out of that relationship and they want more for themselves. I had an aunt who was beaten by her boyfriend and she kept seeing him because she said she loved him instead of loving herself. Most victims are victims because something that has happen in the past either they were raped, father left , or just very insecure about themselves and they actually need help. So if this friend, whether man or woman needs your help and they mean what they say then I would suggest that you do all you can to help that person. Be careful and be discret about so that the abuser won't come after you.

I used to work as a bouncer at some clubs in a few crappy areas. Every Friday and Saturday Night we'd see some junkie pounding on his girlfriend for some reason or another so I'd go over and give him the thumping of his life.
Every time the girl would start attacking us even if he'd broken her nose or whatever. But yeah, I'd do it anytime because as far as I'm concerned you don't hit women.

in a sense to do nothing is like helping to abuse that person and to many people turn the other way and do nothing but when it happens to them or some one they know they can not believe that no one did any thing to help.in an ideal world EVERY ONE would help every one else and then maby there would not be so many gangs, wars, murders, roberies, etc, etc,.so to answer your question there is no way i would turn away from some one being abused,i have not before when in that spot nor will i in the future

I would love to say that I would stop and help, but I would probably just phone the police and know that I should step in to help but would end up waiting for the police to show up

I would try, but it would also depend on the situation. If I was alone with my small children, then my first thought would be to protect them and get them out of there. I would call 911 though.

Definitely for both, but in a safe, quick and efficient way. How can anyone see someone who is in trouble and not try to do something? It could mean saving that person's life.

Absolutely! No one deserves to be abused, wether it be verbally or physically. If it's verbal, step in and stand up for them! If it's physical... REPORT it !! Many abused individuals feel worthless and trapped and can't see a way to disentangle themselves from their aggressors.

It matters how bad, and if it was a girl or guy. IF it was a guy then she would really have to be going at it, and him doing nothing. One of those few good guys that doesn't hurt girls. IF it was a girl getting beat then hell ya, but if it was a weapon then i call 911.

well i would say no. only because i know from experience these people are out to get your money if you step in to protect him/her better believe that they will slap you with a fine. if anything call the police and be careful even then.
