Dont worry,i was like that too. You dont need a small lamp (the room is dark anyway). i used to put my lamp on the floor. kept the room always lighted. I advise you to make a hipnotherapy. might help you find the source of your fear of dark. good luck and sleep well ;-)

I'm sorry to say, but there is no cure for not being afraid of the dark, and if anyone else says there is, they are full of it. By this I mean there is no medicine or pill to fix it. It is all in the head of course.
People who are afraid of the dark, are usually talented with their imagination, and sometimes let their imagination of unlimited real or unreal possibility's over come reality. To be honest, I do not see anything wrong with being scared of the dark. I sometimes cannot sleep unless the closet door is shut, and I'm 6'0 and 220lbs ex military guy.... Still, id be in denial if I said that the darkness didn't make me feel uncomfortable.
Who ever says being afraid of the dark was BAD anyways? Be who you are. Live happy :)

I think deep down we all are..your afraid of what you cant see and you feel venerable when your sleeping I still feel this when there no else in the house..I even had a incident with a ghost once..try sleeping with a nite light..and maybe checking all your doors and windows before sleeping will make you feel a little better and tell your self to relax maybe a little deep breathing exercises will help..

I agree with the one who said to not watch scarey movies. I also had that problem for a little while. I still watch them every now and then but never at night. Try watching comedies and things that in no way can be scarey at night right before you go to bed. A good night light can't hurt anything either. I always just make sure the doors are locked and remind myself that it's all in my head and go to bed.

Don't watch any scary movies. I used to watch them and found that I would still be scared days after watching the movie. (The Ring was the movie that turned me off scary movies.) I haven't seen another scary movie for years and I don't feel scared at night anymore. I even sleep in the basement!

2 options: Drink a lot and pass out each night before you go to sleep or go see a psychiatrist who will probably prescribe a medicine for the paranoia.
