"Pillows are filled with 95% duck feathers, and 5% duck down"

THANKS!!

Down is the layer of soft, fluffy feathers under the main feathers. The down keeps the duck warm. Down isn't waterproof, unlike the duck's other feathers.

Down is the soft "baby" feathers on a duck. Under the main not-too-soft feathers is a layer of white, fluffy, incredibly-soft and warm feathers.

In this case, "down" is not the opposite of "up," but "feathers." According to www.dictionary.com, it's "the soft under plumage of birds as distinct from the contour feathers."

Hope that helps!

I'm betting from your user name that you are a spanish speaker. Down, in this context, would be plumón or plumas. It can also be used anatomically to mean vello. Hope this helps :)
