No, cats are Lactose Intolerant. If they have milk or milk products, they will get diarrhea. This can cause them to get dehydrated. Not a good thing for a cat. If you want, try Soy Milk if you must try milk at all.

Most cats are lactose intolerant (like many have already said). The "runs" are a result of the lactose intolerance. Not much different than a human's reaction to milk if they are lactose intolerant.

I used to -but do not anymore, give cats milk. Judging from the smell when they go to their box, that milk can't be good for them no matter how much they like it!

I have never heard of a cat dieing from it, though they prefer cream moreso or whole milk - not skim. They never refuse it, farmers give it directly from the cow. There is protein in milk. However it should not be the only thing in their diet. they need solid food as well. They are basically meat eaters and that is the way their digestive system works. they will eat table scraps provided it is not lettuce and veges. You can figure out the mix. I use dried dog food and table scraps and a bit of milk and water. They lived 15 years or more and died of old age.

I used to give it to my cat but only as a treat once a week. She loved it and it didn't do her any harm. Be sure it is only as a treat though because she mostly needs water and you want to make sure she drinks plenty of that and if she thinks she will get milk instead she may refuse the water so keep it as a treat a couple times a week, I prefer just one

No way. Cats are very lactose-intolerant. Milk is very bad for them. Water is the best thing to give them to drink. Have them stay away from milk though.

I'm not sure, but I seem to remember hearing that after cats are weened from their mothers, they should not be given milk.

Except for human beings, most animals probably don't drink milk after they are weened from their mothers.

To be sure, ask a veterinarian, but I don't think it is a good idea to feed cats milk.

Yes, it's a nice treat. Don't give it to them all the time, a couple times a week is good. Cats like normal vitamin D (fat milk) and they like it body temperature. Warm up a little to where it is lukewarm and place it in fluffies saucer.
