Ha. From a race that couldn't predict, nor prevent, their own extinction.
Yeah I believe that. Just as much as I believe it is possible to run round the Earth three times in a second.
No one knows when judgement day will be. If anyone believes judgement day actually exists, then that means they also believe in God, the Bible, etc. If they believe in those things they would know that the Bible also indicates no one knows when it will happen.
What we can infer from life as we know it now is that it is approaching very soon. Personally I believe it to be the next 2-3 generations. Prophecy is being fulfilled with war in the middle east, raising gas prices, right becoming wrong (prayer in school, religion, etc.), and wrong becoming right (gay marriage, abortion, etc.). I know that last sentence makes it seem as if I am pushin my personal beliefs off on people, and although I do believe things like prayer in school to be good, and abortion to be bad, you have to think about society as a whole 40 years ago. 40 years ago, nearly all the population believed the way I do now. So I suppose you can say that the prophecy moreso means peoples views of right and wrong will dramatically change.
I'm just waiting for the day that someone tells me I can't do a thing without some sort of marking or piece of technology. Then there is also supposed to be a great world leader of some sort that is supposed to suffer a traumatic head wound that should kill him/her, but he/she survives it and returns to power, and then some. And yet another sign that I feel will happen soon is when Isreal makes a 7 year treaty with... well, whoever. Because it is prophesied that that is also going to happen.
So let's not trust in the Mayans. Let's trust in the words of the "judge" of this "judgement day" you ask about. Besides, if you read the Bible, you too will see the correlation between its words and life today.

That's funny...that's what day I was supposed to be born. Of course in 1983 though.
But it doesn't really matter which exact date it is because there is no way to prepare for something so devastating in 5 short years. World peace has to happen first before we can develop the multi-govenmental resource use necessary to help survive.
The mayans sure knew more about stars than lots of us do today, that's why we stole parts of their calendar. I think I read something about a galactic eclipse that will send huge gravitational waves through the sun towrds our tiny little planet.
And of course we can not imagine how bad things will be then, that's why no one really takes more than a passing note about this subject.
I'm sure we can all agree that we all hope I'm wrong. Why does the Sphinx have a virgin's head and lion body? It's the ends of the Zodiac (Leo/Virgo). A new beginning for some, the end for others.

Nope.
Ever since the dawn of time people have been predicting the end of the world. Why some new Christian sect pops up once a week with some new prediction of the rapture, or some such nonsense.
Not a one of them has been right, and I have no reason to suppose that some new prediction of doom based on the writings of some long dead Mayans will prove any more accurate.

It sounds to me like the Mayan's judgment day came sooner than December 23, 2012.
