I have been hearing that MI now has a state EIC. Is this true and how much will it be?

Wisconsin has a state EIC, but not Michigan.
The State of Michigan has introduced the I-Can EIC Free E-File. In efforts to help working families claim the EIC that they didn't know they could get. Over 1 million taxpayers didn't claim the EIC, which accounted for $400 million in unclaimed credit.
The I-Can program allows many taxpayers to prepare and file their federal and state returns for free. The program is also written in 5th Grade English and Spanish, to make it easier to understand how to prepare their taxes.
