You don't really give much in the way of relevant detail here.
Who are those people?
Are you assuming (perhaps wrongly) that the look has anything to do with you?
If you deal with the public, you shouldn't take things personally. Learn to fake a pleasant cheerfulness. You don't know what kind of day these people are having.
There's also the possibility that you seem smug.
It's also possible that you did the task too well, that is, you did something more perfectly than matters, taking ten times longer, when no one cares that it's THAT perfect.
Keep the purpose of the task (and the purpose of the people you do it for) in mind. Are they more interested in the thing being done, so they can leave, or in flourishes and irrelevant notions of "perfection" or whatever.

By task do you mean work?Well some people look mean all the time,don't pay them any mind.Some could take this as jealousy,I would just say that's their way.......

Either they expect some thing more from you and what you did is just their expected.
you have over rated your performance
they have expert knowledge in the activity what you did and it's not so tough to do for them.
they purposefully want to put you down
they hate you but some how they are satisfied with your outstanding performance.

ENVY!!! also, this upstart works too hard. so we might suddenly, be asked by the boso, why aren't you working as hard & well as the NEW GUY. just keep at it ignore them, they dislike me for the same reason, THEy think i'm a showoff, because, all i need is to see the ctn sape and i can tell what it is without openind and look at ctn desciption of content from ^ mtrs below item! so there you have it "PROFESSIONAL ENVY!!
