With the recent passing of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 by the United State Congress, the "best site" now depends on where you reside, since some sites have stopped taking new players from the United States (or from specific states in the United States).

I recommend three sites in particular for their nice bonuses, great game selection, and excellent sit-and-go tournaments at all stakes. As of this writing, all of these sites take players from any state in the US (as well as all non-US players, of course).

Mansion Poker: http://www.mansion.com/?trackid=192749
FullTilt: http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/?key=MDAwMDJCNTMwMDAwNjhEMjIwODA4MDIxMDAwMDAwMDA
PokerStars: http://www.pokerstars.com/?source=robertmedl.com

If these sites are not to your liking, there are many, many more poker sites that you can check out.
US players that reside in any of IL, IN, LA, MI, NJ, NV, NY, OR, SD, WA, WI: http://theonlinecasinogamblingdirectory.com/s.php?as_usa=1&SRC=YA012907&t=Poker
US players from all other states have a few more choices available: http://theonlinecasinogamblingdirectory.com/s.php?as_usa=2&SRC=YA012907&t=Poker
Non-US players have the most choices: http://theonlinecasinogamblingdirectory.com/s.php?SRC=YA012907&t=Poker

Best of luck!
Robert

PokerStars.com is by far the biggest site and also has the best variety of games of any site. I think that qualifies it as the best internet poker website. Their tournament structure is also better than any other site in my opinion. You can play for real or fake money.

I've played on a lot of other sites - Absolute Poker, Ultimate Bet, Doyle's Room, Full Tilt Poker, Crazy Poker, and Bodog... None are are as good as PokerStars. It's not even close.

There are several. Personally I like pokerstars dot com. I think it allows you the most versatility. Other rooms that I've played in are Doyle's room, paradise poker and a couple more I can't remember. With pokerstars you can down load the dot net version or dot com. Dot net doesn't let you play with real money where as dot com you can. Also with dot com you can put a picture on your button and play more games and or tournaments. Both for real and play money. Hope this helps.

Simply put, Pokerstars offers the best selection of games, most game formats, AND (most importantly) is the most financially stable site available. This means that if they take an unlikely step and pull out of the U.S., you're more likely to get your money back from them than from other sites.
