first, an awareness of "self" to percieve, or concieve of such a thing? Lets say that god always was, always will be; that's fine in my book, but i want to know if there is even a need for god if beings are unable to fully comprehend, or be fully aware of such an entity's existence? How well do you know "god" and how can we all come to have the same understanding of an omnipotent force?

revengeissweet - what makes you think that there is no such thing as human creation - consciousness, and mind, create being - i want to know where that comes from, and why that "power" is in our hands

We exist for God. God doesn't exist for us.
So, the premise of whether there's a need for God is faulty. It's like saying - I have a dog as my companion. I have him because I love dogs, and I love him. If there were no dogs, then why would I need to exist?
God created the universe, and man in particular, so that we could draw near to him and to love Him and be loved by Him. God would still exist (and He did exist) before man, just like I existed before I got my dog.

The Bible states that Faith is a belief in something that is not necessarily seen. Unlike the old saying that "Seeing is believing", for a belief in God, you must invert that saying to read "Believing is seeing."
It's kind of like this: You can't see the wind, but you can see things moving in the wind.
Just because you don't see the wind does not mean that it does not exist.
ALSO, MANY scientists that once said that there is no God, are now starting to say that HE DOES EXIST, because they are determining that there is NO WAY that we couuld all be made in such a COMPLEX way. Besides, if evolution were the case, why has there not been any evolving going on in the human race????
Yeah, you can make the "caveman point", but that was "millions" of years ago. Don't you think that we would have evolved QUTIE A BIT since they existed????

Just because we may not understand something, doesn't mean that there is no need for it, in this case, being God. In order to ask such a question, I think the wise thing to do would be to SEEK God. Then, if you seek him, find him, and ask the same question again, you'll be able to better answer it.
The same answer applies to your last question, no one will ever understand the grace of God if they don't seek him and find him first. I never did until I found him, and I understand it now. I may not understand in a scientific sense, but in a religious and spiritual sense, I do. So in order for everyone to have the same omnipotent force, he needs to be sought out.

If God let go of the universe or slipped at anytime the whole creation would decinerate instantly. And just think that time is close. Shouldn't you be ready? Open your Bible and read. Ask your neighbors, go to church look at the signs and it will not take you long to understand that the time is short and the day is nearly upon you. How dreadful is the day of the coming of the Lord. As a thief it shall come in the night. You must be ready lest your found wanting!!!!!

There’s only two ways this can be answered; one with nonsensical religious prattle and the other with conjecture. I’ll take conjecture over nonsense any day. Conjecture says that, as a species progresses and gains sentience, there are certain stages that must be passed. I call these, evolutionary tiers. There are many mysteries present in a world for creatures that have only just gained the power to perceive the fact that there are many mysteries. Religion was a convenient way of answering these mysteries and making the creatures feel more secure and therefore, more productive. Thus, the evolutionary tier of religion. And here we still unfortunately are. Like a car bogged in mud. As for the next evolutionary tier; your guess is as good as mine.

Two words; He chooses.
He draws certain people in to understanding what he wants them to be able to understand. I guess you could say that is on a 'need to know' basis.
The underlying truth to this which is provabler in the Bible is: God doesn't want everybody.
If you have regrets, that's good. The people who think that they are okay are not likely to become needful of God. Those that are down on themselves can look to him with good reason, they seek a way out of being 'bad'.
And that's where I am. I know that after 20 years of being Christian that I can trust him, and I still find things about myself that I need to open up to him about. It's a relationship that is most rewarding because it'll go on until I'm gone to be with him.

That's why it's called faith...You gotta believe, as for everyone having the "same" understanding I don't know that everyone does, your faith and the way you live your life is in large part based on your interpretation of the bible or your sacred text. And you weren't meant to be able to fully comprehend but rather do the right thing based on what you can comprehend and accept the teachings.

is there a need for God?
you bet there is.
you were born with a sinful nature.
as such, you can not enter the Kingdom of God.
God, being sinless, cannot allow even a sinful nature to enter Heaven.
now, you have a serious problem.
How do you get to Heaven as God intended?
How do you avoid an eternity in Hell?
you are in deep doo-doo.
you are lost forever.
hopeless cause?
no.
thanks to God.
now you need Him......
really need Him to bail you out, so to speak.
So, what is God going to do?
well. He already had a plan.
He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ
(God in the flesh)
to earth to die for all of your sins.
and, if you will accept His free gift of eternal life, He will change your sinful nature to one more pleasing to Him (refered to as being born again), He will send His Spirit to dwell inside you and He will allow you to enter the Kingdom of God and spend an eternity with you.....
as He had originally planned.
pffeeewww.
that was close.
you were almost lost for eternity.
God sure came through when you needed Him most.
now, will you do your part and accept His Gift?

your question is flawed
'I want to know if there is even a need for god'
automatically assumes that humans have created the notion of God
but that is far too materialistic for anyone with proper experience of unexplanable things
the notion of God isnt a human creation...if it was, ofcourse there wouldnt be a need for a god like that
but since it isnt a human creation, but more of a human inspiration, one wonders if questioning is altogether appropriate.
where do inspirations come from? thats your question there.

It is impossible for us to know God with our limited intelligence. We may know of God by the interactions we have or that of others. The Bible is the story of people having a relationship with God.
Jesus came to earth so that we can know God. Jesus told us that He and God are the same. By allowing us to see, hear and know Jesus, God has given us a way to understand a bit of the mystery of Who God is.
