You may need to have the vet give you some meds to sedate your pet . . . some are sooooo disturbed by the sounds of vehicles, that you wonder if they are experiencing pain?

Truly you simply need to persist with it! Start by striking dog at the back of the car (and that i do think crates are the first-class inspiration, most secure in terms of an accident and it gives them a risk-free comfortable location to anchor themselves in), without going anyplace. Take his toys in there, and speak to him quietly. Then progressively start to go on short trips, ending with a best walk. When you've got a route that takes you along straight, and no more bumpy roads, it will aid. And i to find mine journey a ways higher on lengthy motorway journeys, with a regular engine noise, than along windy country lanes. You do ought to make certain you've gotten water with you in view that they may be able to dehydrate with the entire drooling. However the bottom line is maintain at it and gradually your dog will get to experience his journeys out - I had Bassets who had been satisfactory guests (one would actually lie on his again within the car, find it irresistible was once his residing room), even as I need to say, others wouldn't settle, ever. Drugging is not a good suggestion incidentally.

It likely is anxious and getting car sick. Stop at the vet's office and pick up some motion sickness meds for dogs, he'll probably be fine after that. I would check that as well as his ears, are they discharging anything that might make them sensitive to the sounds and wind outside? Dogs normally love to go for rides in the car, which leads me to believe that he is feeling pain or anxiety physically and is trying to tell you. Watch his behaviour when you are heading for the car, does his attitude change when he knows you are going to put him inside the car?Is he crated in the car, or sits on your lap? Maybe sitting below window level might help so that the dog isn't looking outside the window where everything is going by real fast. Good luck.

Start slow. Go out, put him in the car (obviously not if it's 10 below or 90 degrees) and sit out there for a minute or two with him. The next day, add a minute. And so on...When he is ok with sitting in the car, start the car....leave it run. Repeat over and over. Perhaps he is afraid of being left somewhere.
Over and above that he may possibly be getting car sick.

Try taking your dog on short rides at first and reward quiet behaviour with a treat. Gradually increase the length of the rides. If yor dog is nervous, try placing him on a tether to the seatbelt or in a cage, where he will feel more secure. Let your dog take a favourite blanket or toy with him. Persistence.

You could try Gravol (motion sickness).

I'd check with vet on the dosage as it may only be a quarter or half a pill. She either has motion sickness or fears you are taking her to the vet.

Some dogs love the car other can't stand it. Have you tried opening the windows a little?

Well I had a pomeranian and they do get freaked out alot so i would try to hold her when u r driving but if she disturbes you when you are driving then I think you should treat her to something every once in a wile like a rest stop of a treat.

In the Cat section someone just said that her vet recommended Benadryl to calm down a traveling animal.

HI THERE ANIMALS ARE JUST LIKE HUMANS MAYBE THE DOGS GET CAR SICK JUST CAUSE THEY ARE ANIMALS DON'T MEAN THEY DO NOT GO THROUGH WHAT HUMANS GO THROUGH THEY DO. MAYBE IF U PUT THEM IN A CAGE BLOCK THE CAR WINDOW WHERE THEY ARE LIKE THE SIDES DO NOT LET THEM SEE U PUT THEM INSIDE THE CAR TRY IT AT HOME BEFORE U TAKE THEM OUT LIKE A TRAINING PLAY WITH THEM INSIDE THE CARE SO THEY GET THE FEAR OF CAR SICK . MAYBE THEY HAD A BAD DREAM ABOUT CARS OR JUST HATE THE NOISE OF CARS.
