The specific condition of a blood vessel bursting in your head is known as a cerebral hemmorage. Usually it is the result of an aneurysm (85-90%) of the cases. In some cases it is due to ArterioVenous Malformation (AVM) in which the arteries and veins are in a dangerous tangle.
The blood vessels usually involved (and most serious) tend to be the Circle of Willis...a system of arteries located at the base of the brain. This is where most aneurysms strike. Breaks in the basilar and middle cerebral arteries are also quite fatal.

An aneurysm is not a blood vessel per se, rather the ballooning of the wall of the blood vessel. Aneurysm do not always kill you; I occasionally rotate on a high-intensity neuro unit, and some of the patients with this produce stoke-like symptoms. Treatment includes catheterizing a small metal tube up into the groin then feeding the tube to the spot of the aneurysm; the tube is then spun more and more, filliing up the baloon. Very effective in most cases. Hope that this helps you out.

The blood vessels in your head are generally called 'cerebral.' A cerebral aneurysm rupturing can often be fatal.

The classic is the "berry aneurysm". (a small balloon of the vessels that make up the circle of Willis.)

You're probably looking for "cerebral aneurysm," but if you've been keeping up with Washington politics lately, maybe it's "arteriovenous malformation." And some bleeds we just dunno. They're also known by where they occur, as in subarachnoid hemorrhage, subdural hematoma, intracerebral bleed, etc.
