My son gets SSI. Do I need to report only what I spend his money on? Say I buy a bed with my own money for $2,000 (gotta pay on it every month) do I have to report that too??? I think someone told me anything you buy over $2,000 needs to be called in.

We already bought the bed, but didn't pay for it yet. We bought my son a bed with his money and bought one with ours but have to pay by the month for it. I need to know if I need to let them know about it or not.

What is SSI? I strongly recommend saving the money and buying the bed with cash, not credit. You will pay much less that way.

Why don't you buy a bed for less than 2,000 if it's a problem?
