i've never sang in front of anyone except my vocal teacher at school. we're auditioning for solos this week in front of the whole chorus(about 100 kids) help.....

Know your music really well and have it memorized and make sure you are really warmed up before you go in. Get lots of sleep the night before and don't eat or drink any sweets or sodas. Before you start to sing take a deep breath and relax. Take a second to pull yourself together before you start. Every professional singer does this. It is absolutely okay to take a minute to do this. Once you feel composed just pour your heart into it. Someone once told me to believe in what you were singing and you wouldn't think about your nerves. I have been a professional singer for over twenty years. Good Luck!!!

Relax, several deep breathing exercises before you go on stage.. When you get on stage, look at the back of the auditorium, not at the faces. Sing as if you are singing for your vocal coach. Enjoy.

do not play with your hair. smile, make eye contact with the person holding the audition and take deep breathes before the try-out. . don't worry you'll do fine!!!
trust me on these tips i have had plenty of vocal solos in my time.

OMG! I have the same problems. It is scary. Make sure you are certain your good. When you get on stage don't look at the people. If you do my mom always tells me to pretend they are in there underwear. Weird but it may work.
