I have been friends with this guy for 4 years now, and we used to not see eachother that often, but I liked him. Not seeing him made me almost forget him, but now we go to the same school and we've become sooo close, so I really like him again.

We tell eachother everything, so I know about all the girls hes dated, and theyre all bad girls (one stole her parents car, the other is in rehab for drugs). Now, after not dating for 6 months, he tells me he wants an innocent, not-so-wild girl, which I very much am. But he also talks about the girls he likes, none of which are available, but 2 of which are my bffs.

A few weeks ago he begged me to tell him who I like, and I told him everything; how I'd liked him forever, and how I like him a lot now. He reacted well and is now more friendly. But hes not totally over his last gf, and I'm worried if we go out, the breakup will be really hard (which i told him). But I still want to go out with him (didnt tell him that part) what should i do?

If you two start dating, make sure you have a talk about "what if," in regards to ending the relationship. I dated my best friend of 8 years last spring...and after 3 months, we broke it off because it wasn't going anywhere. Before we even started dating, we had a long talk about our expectations for a relationship, and what would happen if we broke up. This inital line of communication was vital to us after the relationship. There was a little bit of awkwardness after, but it passed, and we are now closer friends than we have ever been. I am so glad that we tried, even if it didn't work out.
My advice is just to talk to him seriously. If you guys are best friends than you should be able to do this easily. Just make sure you're both on the same page before you go into anything. Best wishes to you.
