Earlier today I tried dying my reddish/dark blonde hair with Lie Locks (purple) Manic Panic. I left it in for about 3 hours, washed it out and now that's dryed..... nothing. It looks exactly like it did before, maybe a bit darker.
I have some Burgundy (Revlon) permanent hair dye that I've used before and, while it wasn't the color I wanted at the time, it was more purple than my hair turned out with Manic Panic.

Here's my question: can I dye the burgundy color over the Manic Panic, preferably today or tomorrow? Will it damage it to re-dye so soon? If so, about how long should I wait to use the permanent dye?

Thank you in advance.

O.K.---First of all your hair will only grab the Manic Panic colors if your natural color is prelightened with bleach and developer. If you want your whole hair to be purple, I suggest going to your hairstylist and ask for a allover bleach, or if you don't want to spend that much money, grab a highlighting kit from Walmart or go to Sally's Beauty and get a tub of bleach with a 20 volume developer. After your natural color comes up to a pale gold, go for it with the Manic Panic. I would not color your hair immediately with the Revlon color. Best choice to keep your hair from getting damaged is to shampoo your hair about 6 times (preferably with a clarifying shampoo) and that should strip most of the Manic Panic out. Don't condition until after the other color is applied because if you condition b4 applying color, it does not allow color to penetrate through the hair shaft. Absolutely condition after recoloring though. Not only will it help with any damage, but it seals in the color and makes it last longer. Sorry so long--- I'm a hairstylist.

It's always recommended that you wait a minimum of 6 weeks between dyes. Dyeing too soon, or too often can cause extreme damage to hair. In some cases, hair will even fall out.

If your hair was chemical-free when you added the Manic Panic, you can dye over top of it in a week or so, with very little damage. Just make sure to buy (and use) a treatment after the new dye to help protect your hair.

do not dye it a second time, wait until eventually your roots commence to take position , next time you dye your hair use the semi everlasting again. everlasting hair dye became extremely created for older people because the semi everlasting wasn't ok and their gray hair ought to commence to illustrate by ability of again... do not use it extremely would not make a huge difference, only large difference is everlasting dye reason so a lot more desirable harm.
