I dont like to think of god as a being or idol, but as the beliefs of life, truth, freedom, beauty, and love. I also believe in freedom, and even if I dont agree with someone, theyre free to believe whatever they want. And I dont like fighting unless it's for freedom, and someone has denied me right, or it's for rights. ( But I dont like having the freedom to do whatever when it comes to killing, abuses, stealing, and things like that that effect your rights as a being.) Im a bohemian and kind of carefree like a hippie.

I dont believe in inatimate objects!!! they dont feel, that would be silly. I just dont want to believe in an idol, but the feelings love and truth, freedom, and life. I believe there is a good kind loving force that guides us, but I dont want to worship a person.

I dont want to worship a person or idol meaning I just want to follow the virtues. I want to worship the beliefs (Love, life, beauty and truth) not the body (a person or idol) So in a way, I guess god is a spirit that represents the values and beliefs, but I do nt want to worship a person or being, because I think that seems like a monarchy.

Based on your comments you sound like a Deist. That is the most common believes of the people of the Romance period, like the 1800's. The Founding Fathers of America, Classical Music, and the Philosophy of "The Enlightenment" like Hume and Emerson all sprang from the Deist beliefs. The belief that God is material through Beauty, Justice, Truth and that the human being is to strive to maximize these values in their own life. They do believe in a divine force in the universe from which the beauty and truth in the natural world flows from.

The beliefs you outlined are yours after much thought I presume. Religion is the rituals and other observances used to "worship" a god according to webster's. According to some philosophers religion is anything that serves to give you in your life direction and meaning. Since the beliefs you outlined have given you direction and meaning up to now, why not make them your "religion?" Why is it necessary to "worship?"

Worship often degenerates into extravagent groveling. In its simplest form, worship is the awe and reverence you freely feel due to what ever created you and the universe you live in. Having felt that reverance is it necessary to show it to others since it is a very private matter between you and your creator(s)?

One of your beliefs was in love. This might lead you to want to share your worship with others. There are at least 33,820 seperate and distinct Christian Denominations in the world not to mention non-christian religions. You could spend a lifetime trying to find one with beliefs matching yours. But it's worth the effort and you would meet a lot of interesting and I'm sure nice people.

In summary, just accept that your beliefs are your religion and that they have served you well so far so don't be ashamed of them but quietly say them to whomever you meet and that asks in all the churches you may attend in your search. PEACE!

Well if you want a 'religion', you have many directions to take. But if you want a relationship with God, you must become a Christian. I am telling you the truth, Jesus is the only way to gain peace with God. You start this relationship by speaking to him, and teklling him that you believe in his Son, that he died on the cross for your sins, and that you trust him to fulfil his promises.

There is only one way, no matter how dogmatic it might sound. You probably have heard it before, but that 's the only way to get any kind of real relationship with God. Anything else is just spiritual masterbation.

Agnostic, perhaps?

Although, it doesn't really sound to me like you need a religion. You seem to know what you believe in. That's enough for a fulfilling life. You can be a moral person, and continue to explore the beauty of the world without subscribing to a particular religion.

Well, God is a person, or being. You can believe what you will (and thank you for respecting the beliefs of others), but this is reality, no matter what any of us want to think about Him or not.

Bohemian is typical at your age. The rest of you sounds Christian. Most young Bohemians eventually meet someone they really like, get married, and when the kid comes along, they send it to Sunday School. Pre marital sex started in America with the availability of the automobile. The church, at the time decided it must be normal and told the young people when a pregnancy occurs, come and see us and we will marry you right up, and won't say a thing to anybody.

well, a religion that focuses mostly only how to live, and that focuses on real life is buddhism. it helps with meditation because it increases happiness whichc is proved in neuroscience, and it believes that heavan is a a time when you are enlightened, and there isnt anything to worry about and suffer like meeting someone and looking forward to doing something with them the next day but the next day they are sick, making them disapointed in you. buddhism also is free and allows you to celebrate any holiday like christmas because there are no gods and no theology like how the world was created.

Anything but christianity/islam, really.

But almost all religion is bad. If you read The God Delusion (email or IM me if you don't have a copy handy) you'll never feel the need for any religion again.

If you really, really feel the need for a religion, buddhism and wicca seem non-harmful.

Or try the belief-o-matic:

Good luck; let me know if you have any questions for me.

ISLAM.

edit: believe me ma'am if u don't believe that god is neither a human nor an idol then u have part of the muslims' faith , we believe that :
The fundamental beliefs of Islam can be summed up as follows:

1.Belief in the oneness and unity of God. This entails belief in God as the one and only Creator, Cherisher, and Sovereign Lord of the entire universe.he has neither sons nor parteners.

2.Belief in God's angels. Angels are spiritual beings who are engaged in glorifying God and doing His bidding.

3.Belief in the Scriptures (revelations) that contain God's communications to His prophets and messengers. Among the scriptures are [the original] Torah, [the original] Gospel, and finally the Qur'an, which confirms and preserves intact the pristine, perennial religion revealed to all of God's prophets and messengers.

4.Belief in prophets and messengers. These were message bearers from God, who called mankind unto God; they were ideal Muslims (i.e., they submitted themselves wholly and totally to the will of their Lord). In this sense, the prophets are our true role models, as they represent the best of what humanity can aspire to and become.

5.Belief that both good and bad are decreed by God, as He alone is in charge of the entire universe.

6.Belief in the Last Day when all of humanity will stand before their Lord for final reckoning, where one's good as well bad deeds will be scrutinized by the One Who knows all.

Besides the above fundamental beliefs, a Muslim observes the five pillars, and lives a morally and ethically exemplary life, according to the best of his or her ability.

good luck.

You sound quite Pagan or Buddhist or Taoist. Definitely not Christian though, because of your belief about 'God.'

I'm going to look up now what a 'Bohemian' is... never heard that word before...
