No, religion gives body to the being, an identity. The sucky toy gives comfort and for a religion to work well there should always be a bit of discomfort.

I think it's more like a security blanket. Believing that there's a nice warm place for them when they die and that the Bogey man will go to hell, makes them feel safe.

They is more bad religion than good. But I have never met a good atheist,pagan, or wickian, only alot of bad people that claim to be good.
