Ok this might sound silly, but can you define "seeing someone"? Is it actually going on a few dates, just talking and admitting u like each other and planning a date, or is it actual dating? When would you say "i'm seeing him"... Please help clarify this for me. Thanks!

I would think to use the term...seeing someone...means more than once or twice. It means you are not available because...you are seeing someone. Seeing someone is a relationship and I think it would take more than a few dates and nice conversation to use this term. I guess it goes like this...in this order.

Met someone, had coffee and one date
A few more dates with this person
Being with this person on a regular basis
"Seeing this person"
Going with this person (boyfriend state)
Engaged
Married

It is a process...

Who knows what it means now,and what it means wherever you are. But I think one thing is clear; when somebody says "I'm seeing him/her" it implies a certain degree of monogamy. I think so anyway. I'm seeing him, means you can't. I'm seeing him, means he's not seeing anybody else. I think actual dating is irrelevant: it's a level of committment...But, again, these types of vague descriptions we have of very complex emotional relationships are a bad idea in the first place, so don't think too hard about it.

It means dating exclusively, like someone else asks you out and you say "no I'm seeing someone" - used to also be called going steady.

Dating but possibly not exclusively. May be a way of putting other suitors off until you are exclusive with the one you are "seeing"

I'm gonna go with, unofficially dating, which has to be mutually agreed by both parties, or just hook ups.

It means that there is a form of commitment that the two have agreed to.
