It is 7 years when bankruptcy is removed from your credit report.

But.. you can start to rebuild your credit LONG before that time. Capital One will give you a credit card shortly after filing bankruptcy..as does Premier One Bank.. Both can be found online...

Just a side note. I personally know a married woman that filed bankruptcy on her own. Her husband found himself in a finacial crisis a year later. When they checked each of their credit scores, they found Hers to be higher then his. So..long story short.. bankruptcy sometimes is better for your credit score then NOT filing. He had been working at trying to get caught up..(he was a couple months late on mortgage, car payments and several credit cards)... He was finally able to find someone that would refinance his house so he could get things back in line...

Yes, and I think it is more like seven years.
Even with a bankruptcy you can get credit. I just bought a house and a car. But I have been a very, very good girl since then, and got a better job. No credit cards at all.

If that's the only unfavourable ingredient on your checklist, then definite your score will bypass up. even nonetheless, in case you have had delinquencies using fact the BK the upward push could be little or no or not something.
