Well you know he has been married and divorced...could have been a bad situation for him. Wanting to be friends first, there is nothing wrong with that...Four dates, well that is not enough time to really get to know someone if you dont want to make another mistake. Perhaps he needs the time to make sure he wants you to be in his life before the romantic part starts. Maybe he enjoys your company so much he is worried he will ruin it...there could be a lot of reasons why. I wouldnt jump to conclusions just right now, I would give it some more time. Dont you think its sorta nice that he respects you in this way in the short time he has known you? To me that shows integrity. Plus, if he didnt like you it would not have gotten past the first or second date. Why not do this...the next time you go out and before you leave...you give him a short kiss and see if he responds. See what he does, you will be able to tell.

If you have been on four dates he wants to be more than friends.
I think you have ran into one of those nice guys all you women are looking for.
I love it when a woman makes the first move.
If you really like the guy try it.
If you wait too much longer for him to make the first move you might loose him.

He's probably taking it slow and trying to get to know you better. He does not wanna rush it or maybe he's shy. Another possible reason could be he's scared to do anything wrong by taking it to the next level, he might be trying to make sure you're totally comfortable. You could try talking to him, flirting with him to see how he reacts or by holding his hand. Hope this helps. Take care and good luck.

I would think that it just means he wants to take it slow. If he has been married twice he might not want to rush into anything and risk ending up how he did before. I think the best way to figure out what he is thinking relationship wise would be to flat out ask him. Just let him know if you want to be in a relationship with him and let him know that you want to know how he feels about it.

The question should be why haven't you Kissed him!!! If you have tried with no response, dump him and move on to a man that can give you what you want. That is what dating is about finding who is right for you and who is not.

He's either scared or gay. My money's on the fact that he's 40 and might actually have some of those old fashioned, respectful of women manners, and he's scared and painfully shy. Engineer types are this way....I dated a lot of them....

These internet types are all the same, extremely shy and anti-social, but when they've been their @$$ long enough they decide they need female companionship. He ain't kissed 'cause he don't know how!

give it time, maybe he's shy, or he's just feeling u out... then again 4 dates is alot, lolol... communicate your feelings or at least determine that u two are on the same page so there is no confusion down the road...

if its four dates then he wants more then to be just friends. He is most likely gun shy and doesn't want to rush anything, or get to involved if your not gonna be there. The best thing to do is ask him!

Sounds like he's just gun shy to me...plus being in relationships before he may just want to take it slow. Try a couple more dates and if nothing then maybe bring it up with him.
