well i suppose so, but i doubt its the normal. its usual to have a name with some religious significance when getting baptized.

edit: Dawn G is right there is a saint John Bosco, so that would mean its fine to use Bosco.

Talk to your priest. That sounds like a nickname to me.

Pick a good saint's name like John and go by whatever you want the rest of the time.
