Thanks.

My sister had her wedding in our parents yard. The prettiest thing in my opinon was after the sun went down and the lights were on. My parents have lots of landscaping in their yard which they took advantage of. We placed uplights under the rhodies and hydrangeas. White Christmas lights were placed in all the flower beds. Candles in Mason jars and silver lanters were placed in the center of each table. Icicle lights were hung to light the patio where the food was (they used 20 or so strands). The whole yard glowed in a soft white light. It seemed so magical.

The ceremony took place in front of one of the large evergreen trees in the side yard that has a small fountian under it. My mom decorated her brass bird bath with tulle and flowers to hold the unity candle. Tulle was placed along the fence and an arch way to dress it up. Since there were already flowers everywhere, not many were needed for decoration. Butterflies purchased at the craft store were attached to plants, fences, trellises, and other items in the yard as small accents. The cake was frosted in a stucco like texture and then had flower petals cascading down. For favors, she gave out small peat pots with a packet of flower seeds.

For red and silver you could use Chinese paper lanterns hanging from the trees. Silver candle holders or lanters are also very pretty, and not too expensive. Lighting can really transform a space.

Tulle can cover a multitue of sins. It can give a soft look to harsh elements.

While roses are beautiful, they can get expensive. Instead you can have pots of while lobelia, white or red geraniums, white or red impatients, white hydrangeas, white or red sweet william, or white or red petunias. Spring is coming so go take a look at your local garden supply store. Putting plants in white gutters can give you long skinny planters in any length, great for lining the asile or along the head table. Silver buckets with red and white flowers make pretty center pieces. One lucky guest at each table could take it home with them.

There's lots you can do. Shop craft stores for valentines sales for red, white and silver items. If you're not getting married until next year, shop for christmas items. My votive holders (sliver w/ cut out stars) were all bought for my August wedding in November.

Beautiful white tents are a must. Soft lighting, candles, red flowers in silver vases on the tables for the reception. Red roses would be very romantic. I think simple is better! Let all the focus be on you.

May sound weird but how about pot belly style glass vases with silver jem type rocks ,a bright red betta fish and a simple floating flower, maybe a water lily. it would be fairly inexpensive for the reception tables also classy and you could send them home as small gifts for select guests.

This also sounds odd but we have collected loads of glass yogurt jars (baby food jars also work well) and placed a tea-light candle in each of them. Then we have wrapped wire around the neck and formed a "handle". We can then hang them on the trees outside and light them as it gets darker. We've also got strings of outside fairy lights and church candles in huge glass jars, so keeping it simple.

~ candles
~ fairy lights (perhaps around a gazebo)
~ chinese lanterns
~ fire pits and garden heaters
~ water features to create a nice sound
~ sparklers in the food
~ fireworks for later on
~ ribbon and tulle
~ glitter - perhaps under a glass cover on the table? that would be so cool!
~ torches (think the olymic torch kinda thing!)

hope you like the ideas :) x

Candles as part of the centerpieces would be very cute. They would also set a romantic feel.
