I'm at uni and can never get to sleep.
Everyone else manages just fine, but i don't. I always wonder what's going to happen the next day at uni and.. well, get worked up about it.

It's a horrible feeling.

I usually get about 2 hours a night which obviously is very bad!
By the end of the week I feel and look so bad,

What can i do?
Is there medication or something?

Someone please help me.

I am a very anxious person too! I def. think i get it from my parents...they are both like that too. I was taking lexapro but didnt really feel like it was working real good so i am looking to switch and also had undesirable sexual side effects. I would go see your doctor and they should be able to help you out! Good Luck!

Yes, there are very effective treatments for anxiety. Go see your doctor ASAP. S/he might prescribe an anti-anxiety medication, as well as recommend some talk therapy.

The BIG thing here is to do things within a doctor's care and under his/her advisement. Meaning, if the doctor says take __ amount daily at a certain time of day, do that. Don't quit without your doctor's knowledge and assistance, as some anxiety meds need to be ramped down slowly due to side-effects.

Good luck!

Hi there,
Sounds like a pretty annoying situation! There are medications and techniques to help you with your problem. You are best to see your local Dr regarding this as the medicines are likely to be prescription.
However, you can try drinking some camomile tea or something soothing at night-time, and talk about your concerns with someone you trust or someone trained.
There are also some natural therapys/medications to help with sleep, a chemist/natropath should be able to help you with these.
Hope you eventually get some sleep

Some things that helped me with anxiety (mine was very severe and part of bipolar depression, but this should work for anyone)

get a passive muscle relaxation/guided imagery tape, and use it

turn up the heat so you are overwarm if anything. Or use an electric blanket, put on a sweater. . .it is hard to feel anxious when you are too warm. hot baths or in a pinch, a hot shower, or in an even bigger pinch, running hot water over your hands, all help.

Good luck!!

Try to clear your head before you go to bed. When I have that problem I just play the clock radio on the lite FM station and turn it down really low. If that doesn't work for you just take an extra long hot bath or shower with a chamomile & lavender bath wash to relax you. Johnson & johnson makes a calming bath and lotion set.
I think I'll have a nice steam shower myself.

SOUNDS LIKE ANXIETY, i take Zoloft it has helped me a lot. if you are sleeping late every day that can cause trouble getting to sleep.or if not and you have trouble going to sleep MOST would probably say sleeping pills but I THINK THEY MAKE YOU FEEL TO GROGGY THE NEXT DAY try reading a good book to get sleepy or watch TV in bed to keep your mine off of tomorrow you can even close your eyes and listen or try the radio, if you keep having problems you may need to see about some med. from doctor ,a counselor also once told me to shut my eyes and think of the color black and keep saying black in your mine as you try to go to sleep and you won't be able to think of any thing else ,know it sounds silly but I've TRIED IT IT WORKS SOMETIMES TOO.I have trouble going to sleep cause the mine refuses to like shut up, you have to try thinking of something else. good luck.
