Yes they do.
It's probably a combination of two things:
1) You're not attracted to nice guys. You probably pre-screen guys for asshole-ness before you accept a date with them. You just don't realize you do this. You do it sub-consciously. So all the guys you think are cute wind up being assholes.
2) You've got "Use Me" stamped on your forehead. Don't laugh, It's written in invisible ink that only guys can see. Guys can tell whether a particular chick should just be used-up and thrown away. You don't even have to open your mouth. It's just written all over a girl's personality. Nice guys who have their act together avoid this type of chick like the plague. True assholes love this type of girl, cause she's an easy lay. So they will flock to her.

So most likely, here's your problem. The guys that like you, like you for the wrong reasons. And of those choices, you pick the worst ones. There are all kinds of men in the world. You're just lucky enough to attract and choose the wrong ones. Sucks to be you.
You're gonna have to work to get out of your rut. It's not gonna be easy. If you just sit by and do nothing, you're gonna always wind up with assholes. My suggestion is just to start noticing your own behavior. Take note of which guys come up and talk to you. Which ones don't. Or which ones avoid you.
When you think a guy is cute, and he get's your juices flowing, ask yourself why you think he's cute. Look around and pick out the guys that don't interest you at all. Why don't you like them?

Oh man... YES! The problem is that the nice guys don't get any press. They are not necessarily the Fabio look-alikes nor do they have the Donald Trump bank accounts. But there are nice guys everywhere.
Where are you looking? You probably won't find them in the singles bars or the "wherever singles go nowadays" places. You'll find them at the grocery store or picking up their kid at daycare or getting a cup of coffee at Starbucks or looking for a reference book at Borders.

Yes. We do exist. But many times we are overlooked for that hot guy down the street or in the back of the class.

Your best bet is to search. There's many of us out there, but when we're taken in a relationship, by all means we may be gone forever.

Yes. Mine is a prime example. The funny thing is I had given up all hope of finding 'the nice guy' type- or any type for the matter- 2 weeks before meeting him. They're out there, I promise.

Yes. They do. I have one and I couldn't ask for more. We don't play the mind games other people play and we respect each other.

It's not about one person putting the other on a pedastal or being treated like a princess. Nice guys will treat you like an equal and not like you belong to them.
Key: look beyond appearance and beyond who plays sports and who goes clubbing. Think about what you really like, what you really value in life and find someone who aligns with that.

Yes, there is all kinds of very nice men out there you just got to be patient and you will find that right one. Don't give up faith because there is someone out there for everyone.
