How can you NOT feed them? They are so cute, it is a shame you can't cuddle them.

My wife feeds the birds. I don't feed the squirrels because I don't want them in the house. What does being an atheist have to do with it though?

cover the squirrel feeder with poultry cord to keep the birds out and go away the bottom open for get entry to for the squirrels. the birds will learn the food isn't accessible to them and end coming in, also, nuts are a strong decision. The birds go away the nuts on my own and they provide strong food cost to the squirrels. peanuts are cheap contained in the shell and observing them crack the shells is relaxing.

This atheist feeds the birds. They are cool to have around. I am sure the squirrels get the dropped seed.
But you know, that isn't necessarily the best way to help them. If I moved or got sick the whole area would be over populated and some of them would die because I messed around with nature.

Well, the thing about this is that people feed the squirrels, which means squirrels reproduce more which means that there are more squirrels around which means people get annoyed by them more which means people kill them. So, by not feeding squirrels, you are actually helping them. They don't need our food, they can survive on their own.

I DO feed the birds and squirrels in my yard. Always have. And by the way, my atheist neighbor also feeds the birds and squirrels in her yard.

Well, I do. I feed the little birds, doves, sandhill cranes (hundreds of them), sheep, donkeys, cats, dogs, fish, frogs and probably many that I don't even realize are gaining from the food I feed to the ones I listed. It is our responsibility to take care of the animals and other creatures of the earth, as well as the earth itself. Who else will if we don't!

We do feed them. It's really important for me because three of those squirrels I had to raise since newborns because their mother died. We always fed them before, but I do admit to putting out a lot of fresh fruit and veggies for my babies (they're not really babies anymore, but to me they are), which I didn't use to do, just bird feed before. Imagine that, I was doing what the bible said to do, and didn't even realize it! Sometimes I surprise myself, and yes, I'm christian, but that not why we do it.

Matthew 6:26
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
