I like somebody but don't know what to do?

There's a girl in one of my classes that I really like. I have 2 problems though. 1. She might like somebody else and 2. I don't want to ask her out, her say no, and then loose her as a friend. I don't know what to do. I do have the ability to suck it up and be a man though.

Invite her to a social function that is a 'group' thing, so she won't feel like it's a real date. When the social function is over, tell her you had a great time and would like to know if she would like to (go to a movie, etc etc) ask her out on a real date.

Honestly I think you're a little young to be worried about this, focus on your schoolwork and the girl stuff can wait until you're more mature.
