i am noticing that some responses are saying in effect" maybe you werent really saved to begin with"..in other words i wasnt truly repentant, and fully accepting of my salvation . also....sin is going into categories now....is that what christians beleive? that jesus has a rule book about which sin he will allow after the point of salvation and which ones he is ok with?
the paster of my very large baptist church , who led many to christ...had an affair with a friend of mine. he lost his position. but was eventually" reformed " or whatever...is jesus ok with that? because he obviously was ignoring the holy spirit when he commited adultry....will god now act like he "never knew him"?

God is All-That-Is. God is Love. You are Love.

"Sin" is creation of ego/mind for the sole purpose of control.

If you are a parent or have parents think about love. When you do wrong your parents don't stop loving you but they hate what you are doing. Many people think that the gift of Grace is free and they don't have to do anything, but that is not quite right. The invitation to the party comes free and clear, no strings, no requirements, no cost, but you still have to agree to follow the rules while at the party. To truly have accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior then you will undergo a change in attitude so that you will not WANT to do this sinning. If you still want to go out on a killing spree then you really did not accept Jesus. You cannot lose your salvation, but not wanting to change your life to follow Him means you have to question whether you have accepted it in the first place. God will love you no matter what and will always forgive you, if you truly mean it. And don't forget, God ALWAYS knows what you really mean.

Yes, the reason we would go to hell is because we deserve it because of sin, even the littlest sin. The reason we wouldn't do the above things has nothing to do with fear of hell. We put our faith in Christ, among many other reasons, to escape eternal punishment. I could list many reasons why one wouldn't go on a killing spree, take the Lords name in vain, ...etc... The consequences that would occur within your own life as well as the lives of many people, the fact that those things should repulse you would be another, and if those don't affect you then there is the fact that God does discipline us in love. If I did all those things my earthly father would still love me but he wouldn't want me to do those things for the above mentioned reasons. Our heavenly father doesn't either. Many people veiw the principles set forth in the Bible as being something to keep God in his recliner and not chasing us in anger. However, the rules and principles in the Bible are there because they are right and good and promote was is good.

I would truly doubt if you had a heart decision to accept Christ. If you love the Savior you would not want to go on a killing spree. Jesus would still love you. When one belongs to Christ you try to live pleasing in His sight, if you sin it is usually from falling into some temptation, not a plan to kill many people. Without forgiveness of sin you don't go to Heaven.

He will love you no matter what. God hated the sin, not the sinner. A person who GENUINELY has surrendered their life to Christ does not have the desire to go on a killing spree or take the Lord's name in vain. If one can continue in sin without conviction or repentance, they they are very deluded about their faith and their salvation.

It's like tough Love.

Nothing can stop me from loving my four kids or my five grandkids. But, if they "go on a killing spree," I will turn them in, and visit them in prison. The "meat" thing was covered by Jesus. The "taking the Lord's name in vain" includes flying planes into skyscrapers, so you'd have to be more specific.

But, yes, God loves you no matter how much you screw up your life. This doesn't mean you , or the people around you, won't suffer because of your foolishness.

Im going to keep the Bible out of this

but I dont come from a bible background and in my faith, God says the same thing.

there is a big misunderstanding accompanied by this tho.

A big misunderstanding and a HUGE assumption that God will love you no matter what you do.

Thats not what God says, He says He loves you no matter what your original qualities are. In other words, He loves you by default. But to keep that Love going you need to keep up being a good person.

This however clashes with the idea of man being born with sin. Any logical thinker would know that a baby is as sinless as an angel. Sin is a direct result of action.

Eve and Adam? Am sure they were forgiven for when they asked for it.

Romans 6:1-3
1What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

As believers, we should not want to offend God or want to sin against Him in anyway. Salvation is not an insurance policy, to go on sinning but still get into heaven. If the mentality is to continuing sinning, but still be able to go to heaven, you are asking Christ into your life for the wrong reason.

Confessing Jesus as Lord like it says in Romans 10:9-10, means wanting to use the rest of your life to serve and please Him. Wanting Him to be your master. That only comes out of an attitude of acknowledging that you are a sinner and in need of Jesus as your Savior, not that you want to continue to be what you were.

I love my children.

No matter what.

But if they went on a killing spree while eating ham sandwiches on a Friday during lent, I'd be pissed (not so much about eating ham sandwiches, or lent.)

But I'd still love them. We need to not misinterpret God's love with his acceptance of our activities.

This reminds me of a bumper sticker I am seeing more and more frequently that says "Jesus loves you ... Everyone else thinks you're an @$$hole." ... off the subject a tad bit, but I like it nonetheless.

While you are correct that Go loves you NO MATTER WHAT, He is also bound by His laws. He is loving and merciful, but His is also just. Therefore, if we are disobedient to His laws he must apply the designated punishment. However, because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we are able to repent and remove from us the particular punishment. So, it is important to always be obedient, and if we fail we must be certain to repent asap. Thankfully, God is the judge.

"Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid:yea, we establish the law." - Romans 3:31.

So you are without excuse when you sin with knowledge. The Lord reveals in your heart when you do wrong and do not repent of that sin. God knows everything.
