no they are not

the suicide rate is high because they work that they do is so detailed and personal that it is highly stressful. It's very unfortunate.

No that is not true. Most dentists are dentists because they have an interest or a passion for dentistry. Dentistry is an art but for some it can be depressing that they may inflict pain on people as opposed tp MDs who can give drugs to help people. Plus dentistry for some is a difficult hustle because they have to build up their patient base and sometimes a patient's insurance may not cover procedures that need to be done. some patients may have money to pay the dentist and some may not. Plus dental work is often related to people's ability to pay so if you live in an area where there a crappy insurances or people do not have a lot of cash, medical problems will take priority over dental work. plus dental equipment and setting up a dental office is very expensive. They often have very high overhead that can not be easily transferred to the patient because if the prices are too high [patients will not come and insurnaces will not reimburse for the full amount. Plus if you look at the amount of student loans or the cost of dental education in general, they do not have as many opportunities as medical doctors do to work for the government or poor areas in order to pay back loans, so the burden of their cost of education is largerly based on their own ability to produce. Plus MDs can go to hospitals and get jobs easily, whereas dentist really can't, there are dental clinic franchises but they put pressure on dentist to lie to the patients in order to perform certain procedures that they can bill more for and make money. but besides all that, I don't think they comitt suicide more than Mds

I would say no they arnt "doctors who couldnt make it" Im pretty sure being a dentist has to be your goal when you first set out to do it. Someone doenst just get to sit around and say, "Hey you suck at this, why dont yougo be a dentist". Im sure the reason the higher rate of suicide victims are dentists, (or so I have heard, but dont know to be a fact), is because people fear them, dont like going to see them, ect. Who likes going to the dentist ya know. So thats my opinion.

NO, I know plenty of dentist who were never even interested in going to medical school. There are lots of great advantages to being a dentist, primarily a less stressful job with more time for yourself and family. Some people just want to be dentists don't you remember Hermey the elf.

No, they are people who still make a ton of money and don't have to palpate peoples abdomens, listen to what bowel movements look like, do gyencologic exams or put their fingers up anyones bum. Besides there are more medical schools than dental schools so i would think it would be way harder to get into dental school than medical school.
