Trans fats are bad in a long term health. It's like taking chances, some people is more prone to be harm for something than others,so I would say, keep them to a (personal) minimum, but do not restrain yourself to not to eat any.
But if all you want is to gain weight faster, why don't you try with another kind of fats that would make the work? (like mayo instead of butter), or to eat more carbs (potatoes instead of rice), fried stuff with canola oil instead of grilled?

why would you want to put on the weight with trans fats ? How about a high fiber, protein and good carb diet ( u know like potatoes other root veggies, cereals, whole grains)
also have you seen a nutritionist, it's probably the best bet since you don't want to put a bunch of unhealthy weight.

This was taken from the National Academy of Sciences-"there is no safe level of trans fat consumption. There is no adequate level, recommended daily amount or tolerable upper limit for trans fats. This is because any incremental increase in trans fat intake increases the risk of coronary heart disease."
However, easy does it.Alot of foods have some transfat. It is just that some things are a lot higher than others. There is no nutritional value to it.So,if you are eating a lot of junk food...you are only getting bad cholesterol and lowering your good cholesterol.
Malt is sold in a jar and you put it in milk. Milk has some trans fat but is not as bad as oreos, for instance!Malt is one of the most fattening things. So are avocadoes, macademia nuts, and fresh peanut butter,Type in "Trans Fat" on your computer. It will give you a lot of information! Good luck!

don't use trans fats........ go for real butter & cream, bacon, high-fat cheese like cheddar, well-marbled steak, avocadoes. Your body can process these natural foods, the transfats clog the arteries, and put too much burden on your heart.

A good trans fat is a dead trans fat. Don't do it. It does nothing for you. It's just grease and a major enemy of your heart. Just focus on carbs, protein, and UNSATURATED fats. Good luck.

Why would you want to gain weight? It is not healthy. I don't think everyone who is slightly overweight needs to diet, but gaining weight for the sake of gaining weight is unhealthy. If you happen to gain weight incidentally by weight lifting and bulking up, that's another story.
