May be an enlarged lymph node. I would see a vet if it is still there in a day or so, or if it gets bigger.

Don't be scared, be responsible. It could be something as simple as an abscess (from a small cut or puncture that's gotten infected -- solution would be draining the abscess and oral antibiotics.).

Or, it could be a tumor that could be benign and not cancerous. Solution to this would mean surgery and a biopsy -- most lumps are benign, so please don't get hysterical.

Also, just remembered another possible cause for a lump: has your dog had vaccinations recently? These are given sub-cutaneously (under the skin and not through a vein) and often it causes a minor reaction in the shape of a lump -- very common and nothing at all to worry about.

How will you know which of the above, if any, are the "culprit"? Take your dog to the vet as soon as you can -- it's not only for his/her best interests but also piece of mind for you. Good luck!

It could be a cyst or a tumor...usually dogs when they get older they develop lumps under the skin and it could be just a fatty buildup...I have a golden Retriever that had a lump removed and a biopsy reported that luckily it was a fatty buildup...you need to get the dog to the vet and have it checked out...could be something that can be stopped from getting worse. Good luck ! =)

It could be a cancerous tumor. I suggest taking it to the vet, chihuahuas are very valuable dogs.

It's hard to say - probably just a cyst. If it's a tumor though, you should get it checked right away. My dog had a really bad type of cancer but is now doing well because we caught it in time. It will give you peace of mind to find out. They'll probably biopsy, send it in, and then tell you it's fine.

Take the dog to the vet A.S.A.P. Not to scare you worse but it could be a tumor so you should get it checked to make sure it isn't a cancer tumor. Good luck hope you dog feels better.

This could be a bone fragmet, tumour, internal olcer, And LOADS more things. Go to the vet and ask 4 an x-ray, and check if it is a cancer, if so.... hope it isn't malignet or attached to a liver or lung.

You are right to be scared- A chihuahua shouldn't have an arm. See your vet at once.

Don't be scared, it's probably a calcium deposit. my dog has the same thing, and I forget what it's called ( something like "lipdema") but it's harmless.

Still, always good to get anything checked out by a pro!

It's just a small tumor. Nothing to really worry about right now but you can get it surgically removed if it does bother u that much
