There could be several things including : cancer, worms, parasites, something the dog ate that is injuring it internally, etc....

Definitely get a stool sample and see the vet ASAP!

That's indicative of a serious medical problem and you should take him to the vet ASAP. He could have eaten something that tore his insides, he could have cancer....

Try to take a stool sample to the vet that shows the blood.
