If you're not married, ending it IS the solution. If you can't get along or solve your problems, you're either not mature enough for a relationship, or you're not with the right person.

I see it all the time.... some personalities just do NOT mix no matter how hard 2 ppl try, and most times it is only 1 who is trying to make things work, and that NEVER works.... It takes 2 ppl to make a relationship...... 1 is just 1....... therapy ONLY works when both want the help... so if the guy is telling you that he loves you BUT ya'll can not be together ?? well, that should tell you only 1 thing.... HE is NOT willing to go that extra mile........ God bless

Love should be unconditional but rarely is. If you are told you are loved but no thanks it means you are not loved enough.
Hard truth.
The person who says that has made a decision about what is more important- the love they feel for you or their own happiness. And when their happiness and yours are not one and the same then it is goodbye, I am afraid.
Oh, and it does tend to be a rather male approach to things- "don't ask for help here, we have tried but I think it is not working so goodbye."
And it IS a nice way of saying goodbye than telling someone you DON'T love them so you cannot be with them! Surely?

It's a polite and nice way to say I don't want to be with you any more. If you truly love someone would you walk away just because there were problems? No you would try to work it out. Let them go.

The same thing happend to me. Some people just like to give up I think. I think it's just a "nice way" of breaking up but in reality I think it hurts more. I am still trying to figure out "why" in my case but I do not think I ever will.

Yes, i got it once from my ex when he said that he loves me but we can't be together - usually its another woman or a problem with him - if you don't have a family yet - then bail. If you do then i still think you would be better off without him.

Therapy??? Are you married? Do you have kids together? If someone tells you they can't be with you, then they don't really love you.

Because it is easier that way, trust me. instead if it ever happens again tell that person " I love you too, but i never want to end it this way, and end it the way you want too. don't try to fix something that is broken, toss it out and find something better

Its a man so the easy way out is always best!
(it may not seem like it now, but he is doing you a favor) if he is not willing to work on 'small' problems, big ones will destroy you!

Yes and it was the worst decision of my entire life. Still regretting it.
You just got to at least try harder to work it out.
