Need some advice, my husband and I want to start planning a family. I have been working as a professional business analyst for the last 8 years. I recently got a new job two months ago and have no desire to work at the company. However, I feel that if I quit I'm not going to get back the experience after the baby .. Right now if I stay on the job I can save up for the child.. but at the same time not sure if its healthy for me to stay on a job that I don't like and become pregnant. Your thoughts???

If you do not like your current job it can cause added stress when you start TTC. Its already stressful enough. In the end its up to what you really want to do.
Can you sit at home all day long and do household things?
What will you fill your days with?

Hopefully you will be happy in whatever endeavor you chose.

I had about the same problem when I was pregnant. The best thing to do is stay at work unless you are at any high risk factor right now. You need to ask your self if you have any health issues if not work until your doctor tells you you can take leave. The money will help in the long run.

You should separate the job which you hate from the desire to start a child and find a company where you want to work.

I would say try and find a job that makes you happy. being stressed is not going to help you get pregnant. A job that makes you happy is going to work great if your trying to conceive.. you don't want negative feelings while ttc. I would definiltly look for a better place to work, or just stop and try to have your child. goodluck

I would say continue to work and try to concieve and see where it goes. It may take you longer than you expect to get pregnant. You may find that at 6 months or so, it's just too much and you quit then.

given your personal and professional situations, i suggest becoming a consultant in your current field or another which may reduce your dislike for your current position, thus reducing stress which is not good for conceiving or the pregnancy, still allows you to save money, and get mentally and physically prepared.
