No, silly. Splenda does NOT give cancer. "It's clearly demonstrated that SPLENDA® does not cause cancer or any other adverse health effects."
Phenylalanine is an essential alpha-amino acid. It exists in two forms, a D and an L form, which are enantiomers (mirror-image molecules) of each other. It has a benzyl side chain. Its name comes from its chemical structures consisting of a phenyl group substituted for one of the hydrogens in the side chain of alanine. Because of its phenyl group, phenylalanine is an aromatic compound. At room temperature, it is a white, powdery solid.

If splenda contains aspartame you may want to consider the findings of a recent, major scientific study published in the U.S. government's research journal "Environmental Health Perspectives" (March 2006;114(3):379-85. "First experimental demonstration of the multipotential carcinogenic effects of aspartame administered in the feed to Sprague-Dawley rats.")
Here are the conclusions of the researchers: "the results of this mega-experiment indicate that APM (aspartame) is a multipotential carcinogenic agent, even at a daily dose of 20mg/kg body weight, much less than the current acceptable daily intake. On the basis of these results, a reevaluation of the present guidelines on the use and consumption of APM is urgent and and cannot be delayed."
Hope you find this scientific information helpful. Best wishes and good luck.

Splenda and artificial sweetners are neurotoxins. For some people, high amonts in you diet can cause headaches and gastro intestinal problems. Here's the thing. Anything chemical that you put in your body on a regular basis cannot be ruled out as not causing cancer.
