Where I work a DA's investigator is paid comparably to a police detective or sergeant. Remember that there is little to no overtime in the DA's office. Overtime is one of the areas where police officers really bump up their pay.

In the city of New Orleans, the DA investigators are NOPD officers, so they get whatever salary is commensurate with their civil service rank.

It all depends where you live.Out in my area in California,i live in one of the largest counties so the D.A. investigators get payed pretty well. Usually starting above 50 thousand per year.A law enforcement backround is required.
