every thing is done on a communal basis. i.e. everyone together. after revile you will stand on line for announcements..usually only a few minutes then you'll be turned loose to get dressed and stow away your gear or get out what ever you are told to. the squad bay is cut into two sides..port and starboard one side at a time will go to the head while the other makes there bed and cleans there immediate area. then it is reversed for the other side to clean, shave, s h i t and brush there gums..at the end of the day after 1630 you will usually take your shower. in one big group...port and starboard again..half of them shave while the other half shower.. you will field day once a week..{good cleaning of the barracks}.. YOU will do the laundry or who ever has fire watch for the night...it doesn't get sent out to a base laundry...you'll wash the platoons pt gear also...
a word of advice...when you first get to your training platoon on the first day they will make you think that you are going to get to take shower...DON'T SOAP UP... they will only give you a few minutes in the shower...long enough to lather up and then BOOM they are in there getting you out of the shower. soap in the eyes or not...teaching you to do things in a fast manner...learn to brush your teeth in the shower also..it saves time.....

Everyone takes showers in one big shower at the end of the day. Everyone is assigned cleaning duties, usually, in the morning before and/or after chow, the barracks, heads, and grounds are cleaned by the platoon. Everyone turns in their linen once a week to be cleaned by the base laundry. Field Days (when you clean everything really good) goes usually once a week or when punished.

Same way as when you are at home.
Just have a bunch of guys with you.
Cleaning up the barracks is done as a team.

You have showers in a shower room and you do cleaning when it is your duty day.

How else do you think?

Back in the day
Lights hit on at 0600 with an announcement . . .
Then you had 1/2 hour to do EVERYTHING (including having your sleeping area in inspection order) before hitting the chow hall & then off to training.

But now, IDK, maybe lights on at 0400 ?
