He is a beautiful looking dog. I would say he is purebred rottweiler because everything looks like a rottweiler but the face is just a little longer. And someone else mentioned about the docked tail..I also don't think someone would have gotten that done if he was a mix. But if he is a mix I would say maybe doberman from the longer face possibly. Well whatever he is he is such a nice looking dog...your lucky to have him.!!! :)

ME TOO!!! about 5 years ago I had a German Rottweiler but after a short time I realized my tiny apartment at the time was too small for her and i had to give her up. she was such a smart protective dog. I loved her so much... The dog I have now is a mutt (shes a lab/ terrier mix) and I fell in love with her. Otherwise I'd probably get another rottweiler or rott mix... maybe someday.... they are truely wonderful dogs!!!!

I do love rottweilers! When i was very young, around 4, i always thought they were SOO cute, so much so that when a stray came into our yard a gave him a BIG hug. Well... he didn't want to be hugged, so he bit me on the head, luckily i was wearing a hat. So after that day my mom BEAT it into my head that rottweilers were bad dogs. She told me they were vicious animals, only out ot harm people. So i grew up most of my life loving the breed from a far. Cause though i was afraid of them, i still thought they were beautiful. Well, i went to school to become a vet tech, and i was once again faced with rottweilers. A lot of them came into vet clinics, and i had to work with them. At first i tried to stay away, or at least not be in a room alone with one. The rottweilers were only weary of me, because i was weary of them. WELL, one day i met Zeus, he was a 140 pound rottweiler that i had to do a dental on. This dog acted like a big baby. I fell in love..Again! I could hug on him, and kiss him, and he was so sweet and gentle. This dog alone reminded me of what a rottweiler was really like. After i regained my confidence i have never had a problem with a rottweiler, they have all been sweet wonderful dogs, who would never hurt a fly!

Rotweilers are just misunderstood. People think their bad dogs because of their reputation. Its just the way you trsin them or the breeder you got them from treated them. I LOVE them too! Their soo cute! Playful and fun. But, one of my experiences..I was playing hide and go seek tag with my friends in a small town, when we went hiding in this backyard of someone and this HUGE rotti was like wild and on chains in a backyard. The chains were small. Then me and my friends were sorta freaked by the rotti and then it was like a bush in a ditch where we were and so my cousin was there too and she said RUN with a shout and I thought it was b/c the rotti was loose but it was b/c my friends who were "it" were comeing, then, I fell. It was funny. Had to be there.

We are on our third now & the only problem is they only live about ten years. I'm training a new seven month old now & kind of forgot what the puppy stage was like, LOL! They are number one on the list of guard dogs. My beagle holds his own though.

When I was growin up my parents bred Rotts - and I have a 7 month old named Ceasar..............I LOVE them too. People say they are "bad, vicious dogs" but it's all in how you raise your dog. I will own no other breed.

You're not crazy. I love them, too. I have a rottie named Zena, and, although she can be hyper at times, she is loyal, and affectionate, and playful, and an excellent watchdog...and she's so beautiful.
