The book of Acts.. Salvation and the Baptism of the holy spirit, two separate experiences. Every new believer has a measure through the new birth, but is not the same as the baptism of the Holy Spirit. John3:5-8 That which is born of the flesh is flesh: and that which is born of the spirit is spirit. God has already given the the holy spirit, believers need only to receive it. It was given on the day of Pentecost and HE has been here ever sense! The holy spirit is a person....Jesus refers to this in John 14:16 I will pray the Father, and he{the father} shall give you another comforter, that he{ the holy spirit} may abide in you forever. The third person of the Godhead, it is more than just an experience you receive a Divine personality. He come to live in you, to dwell in you and to make his home in you. This is a spiritual gift and what come with it is the manifestation ,a vocal gift,prophecy, divers kinds of tongues, interpretation of tongues and it will be clear by what is said ,Jesus is Lord. They always uplift the Lordship of Jesus not the lordship of man. Paul said in first Corinthians 12:3 that no man can say Jesus is Lord except by the holy spirit. It is a aid in prayer that only you and the Lord Can understand and confuse the enemy. It is a guide to knowledge through the holy spirit to reveal things to us in troubled times and in the presence of evil spirits, they are around us now! wouldnt you want a guild and comforter at all times..We need especially now as we enter the end times to descern what is happening and warn others. a good book to study ingreat detail in "The Holy spirit and His gifts" By kennent E. Hagin it will give you what you need.
