The Ford F-150 is consistently the second most reliable fullsize truck sold in the United States, behind only the Toyota Tundra (according to Consumer Reports). Only once was it third, behind the Chevrolet Avalanche for one year, and once it even passed the Toyota.
The Ford F-150 (especially the 6-Cylinder, 2-Wheel Drive model) is easier on the gas than most other comparable fullsize trucks (with the sole exception, once again, of the Toyota Tundra). It's generally just the right size, being neither too big (Dodge Ram and Nissan Titan) nor too small (Toyota Tundra and T100). About the only disadvantage it has is that the extended-cab option isn't as large as the one on the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, but it is more comparable with the other fullsize extended-cab trucks.
About the only problem I see with the deal you want to go into is that the price seems a little steep. You can get a brand new Ford F-150 in the same configuration for about that. Plus, then you get to choose your options and don't have to worry about somebody else abusing it before you own it.
Ford's Build and Price site was down, but their homepage lists a brand new 2007 F-150 (regular cab with 2-Wheel Drive) starting at $19,200. My best guess is that an extended-cab model is likely about $1,500 more. That's pretty good compared to the deal you're looking at, since the new model has 0 miles, comes in your choice of color, and has no wear and tear on it whatsoever.
I'd buy a new one before going after this deal, but keep looking for other deals as well. And, yes, the Ford F-150 gets the go ahead in my arena.
If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

Yes, the F-Series is the best selling vehicle in America for 30 years.
If you wait until Ford Truck Month (starts mid-Feb) you can probably get a new 2007 for around the same price. Ford puts a lot of money into incentives for Truck Month. I would personally wait if I was buying a truck.

I just bought a 97 Ford explorer with 145000 miles on it and I couldn't be happier. A Ford F150 is a great truck. I know many people including my brother and my father-in-law who drive them and they seem to be nearly indestructable if properly maintained.

In general, F150's are very good trucks. Check the Kelley Blue Book and NADA Guide before you talk price.
