Well if distractions are a problem maybe (as nerdy as it sounds) you should go to the library. There are many rules there and the internet is generally blocked so you can only use it to look up stuff for school. They're only open so long as well so you'll stay focused to finish before they close. Hope this helps.

Something is weighing on your mind or you would not be so distracted. Your mind keeps wandering back to whatever it is. It may not even be obvious to you what is bothering you. Think back and try to focus on what is foremost in your mind. Are you daydreaming about a boy or girl? A story you heard about someone and you wonder if it is true? A problem with a friend or parent? A school assignment looming a deadline and you are worried about it? THINK...Once you get the block out of the way, you may concentrate more on your work. You COULD also have Attention Deficit Disorder. This means you get distracted easily from whateer you are doing. It is hard to stay focused on anything, no matter what it is. there are meds for this. Have parents take you to a Dr. if all else fails. They will test you. You could also talk to your guidance counselor at school for advice on ADD or other suggestions to help focus. That is what they are there for. Don't be afraid to ask for help. You will regret it if you don't do good in school.

get a kitchen timer, one that is quiet !!! set if for an hour, close the door, pull the shades, turn OFF the radio and all other distractions.... put the timer in the closet so you will NOT be watching it..... and do your work.... set the timer again for 10 min. break, and stretch and drink a glass of water or juice, NO SUGAR, and then set the timer again for an hour, and repeat as long as it takes.... about a month of this restricted action should help and you will find you will get used to the routine and may not have to have the timer, but do this timer stuff till you get diciplined enough to do it on your own..... or you may have to use it while you are in school ....... God bless
ohhh, and tell mom and dad and any siblings to NOT disturb you at all during that hour, make time to return any calls AFTER you have done at least 1/2 of ALL your home work, and then set the alarm for 15 mins. for phone, you might try skipping the phone call stuff the first 2 nights to allow yourself to get used to the routine !!!!!!! and I KNOW your grades will improve doing all this............

It's not an easy task, you just need to find a place where you are comfortable enough, and lets you focus on your homework directly. Try not to be around people talking, nor near the TV. If you want you can turn on music, but try it to be instrumental, so that you don't focus on the singer's words. Give yourself timeframes, like for example 30 minutes of straight homework, without distractions, and 5-10 minutes of rest. Drink water, and keep most of your body comfortable for the most time being.

ya know i am the same way and i coulda been out of school by now and honestly the only thing that helps is something that will get you at least somewhat excited about what you are doing. also you could be getting distracted because maybe you dont feel all so very happy, a little depressed about something. my modd seems to follow me and if im mad, sad, or annoyed i tend not to care.

It is possible that you have ADD, but try putting yourself in your room with no music and no computer so that there aren't any distractions around you. It may even be easier to put yourself in a room that is not your bedroom to help with any possible distractions you may have. Maybe having your parents "watching" you or giving yourself a slotted time to finish it may help you. You know, guess about how long you think it will take and challenge yourself to finish within that given time.

That sometimes happens to me, too! Just find a comfertable spot in your house, like a nice sofa or bed. With the TV off of course. THen, think of a reward you can give yourself if you finish fast and buckle down to work. Like go over a friends house or something.

have you been tested for ADD/ADHD? Seriously, you sound like me and I have ADHD. If that's not it, go somewhere quiet and with nothing to look at. Make a corner somewhere and take everything off the wall and put your desk towards it. Dont let yourself be distracted. sometimes, its mind over matter...

Buy a CD of concentration music. (Solitudes Natural Concentration is highly recommend.) It'll naturally move your body into the state you need to be in to focus on your work. Listen to it with noise-canceling headphones, and you'll be all right.
