But disagreeing is the same as attacking and forcing - didn't you get the memo? (It was the same memo about how the Christians are being "persecuted.")

Sometimes some people are so insecure in themselves, their beliefs, etc that any disagreement is viewed as an attack... and other times, it's how the disagreeing view is stated....
I was once asked by a Christian of a different sect what I thought of (what I later found out was) his sect. I'm sooooo glad I chose to answer diplomatically.... I said, "They seem to be very committed to their beliefs," when what I really felt/feel was that they were a little over-zealous, bordering on fanatical.
But I didn't piss him off, which is a start to a positive realtionship. He will never listen to my side, even if it's to simply understand if I make him mad.... Maybe that's where you're hitting road blocks- you start out so forcefully that people are turned off and don't want to listen to ANYTHING.... Just a thought.

Another answer, of wider importance: Religion, and the attempt to spread any or all religions, over the ages, has caused more human suffering and death, for each and every time period, then any other human concept including political ideology, which so often is tied to the predominent religion of a particular area. Maybe you of all religions out there who want to kill for your brainwashed beliefs, just don't know the history of this thing we call "faith," and the deep and unending misery differences between faiths has caused and will cause for the next one hundred thousand years. I'm just going to sit back and laugh at you half-wits of all dogmas. Will simply try to stay out of the way as Islamics and Christians make nuclear vapor and glass out of one another, though I will most certainly not be successful. As punishment, may the nuclear ash of all western and eastern religious war proponents be respectively either rejected by heaven/hell or given 72 diseased whores for a reward.......... whichever fit your cultural backgrounds.

Huh? Your question doesn't make sense. You can't force beliefs on someone, w/ or w/o a gun. That's why forced conversion are so pointless; they're not true conversions. Any religion that is in outward form only is pointless, imho. I realize not everyone sees it that way, but a religion that does not come from the heart seems only superficial to me.

If you truly believe something, then someone else can't force their beliefs on you, no matter what they do. To me, it doesn't matter what you believe, as long as we can have a civilized conversation. I don't mind hearing about what others believe, in fact I think it's interesting to learn about what others think. I just don't like when someone takes what I believe and makes fun of it, or tells me I'm wrong and I'm going to hell. How do they know who's going to hell and who isn't? They aren't the one who will ultimatly tell me that...
Anyways, enough of my high horse.. just tell those people that you have a human right to believe what you will and no one can change that without you wanting to. On the flip side, don't try to tell others what they should believe. Show respect and respect will be given.

Umm well when some certain people of no faith or just rudeness make very very idiotic statements or are just very closed minded then yeah it feels like you are just seeing that sterotype of a religious person and it feels awful because not all religious folk are going to kill you if you don't digest my Bible! or their going to put a curse on your family for 16 generations with my cat....come now. When you state it like its true for everyone ALL the time then yeah pressure is on.

If anyone feels like the Christian faith is being forced on them, it is no doubt the Holy Spirit....but don't worry He will not force, He is just very convincing.
I can't imagine why someone would feel force, i do not feel force in this forum, just peoples opinions.

On the path to POWER, one must pass a test with a Petty Tyrant. Mine was a little black woman that was a dominating crackhead.
When talking in therapy, (I'm much better now). I told them how she demanded
everything from me. And one self-righteous horses@ss said, "She didn't put a gun to your head did she?"
And I said, "Worse. She Nagged!"
That's all You do is NAG! You little *****!
