Some people say that it begins closing within 30 min of taking it out but i don't think it ever completely closes. I have had mine out for a year and a half and after reading your question, I just had to see...! Anyway, I can still find the whole and could get it about half way through but it hurt like crazy so I stopped. Hope that helps :)

Depends on your bodies healing mechanism. My brothers closed in a few hours mine took about a week. Because it is your tongue it would usually heal faster than other body parts. But also because of the food and drinks that would get into the whole you should try and avoid things that might cause an infection (such as dairy products especially yogurt that carry natural bacteria!) also make sure you use mouth wash. There is not given time, but i would say if its not closed in 2-3 wks you should maybe check with a doc for an infection! :)

Not sure, but you shouldn't take it out! especially if you have had it for less than 6 months. talk to your piercer
